ABOUT AUSTIN

A supportive, practical approach to meaningful change

Hi, I’m Austin, the Principal Organisational Psychologist at Reimagine Psychology Melbourne. I have over 10 years of experience working with clients across mental health care, consulting and coaching settings, including health care, aged care, universities and senior leaders across some of Australia’s largest industries.

Through my own lived experiences, I’ve come to really appreciate that we’re all human at the end of the day. I strongly believe everybody deserves to be heard and to know they are not alone. I recognise that it takes real strength to seek support, and I aim to create a safe, collaborative and empowering space as we work together towards your goals.

I bring a supportive, empathetic and pragmatic approach to therapy. I draw on evidence-based approaches including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, while working collaboratively with you to find strategies that feel useful and realistic.

My background and beliefs

Having worked as a senior leader in professional consulting, I can personally relate to challenges including stress, anxiety, burnout and feeling lost in life. I also bring lived experience of ADHD, chronic pain and burnout, and understand how difficult it can feel to be different while being expected to fit a certain idea of “normal”.

I have a particular interest in helping people build richer, more fulfilling lives by recognising their strengths, working towards meaningful goals and creating change that feels right for them.
